Connaught Amateur Spring Show

Our first 1 day Amateur Spring Show in the region. An opportunity to prepare for the Connaught League and RDS qualifiers. This show will comprise of 3 classes catering for all Amateur and Sportsmember levels and will be
We have a total prize fund worth over €2500. We will have plenty of voucher prizes for fuel, general & equestrian vouchers.
First class is a Welcome Stakes which is kindly sponsored by the Friends of Connaught Amateurs. This sponsorship group comprises a number of local businesses who have generously donated to support this class. The Welcome Stakes is for Amateurs as well as Sportsmembers and it will be a Sportsmember All Ireland Qualifier. There will be 1-6 prizes for both Amateurs and Sportsmembers to the value of €300 for both, and winners in both categories will receive a presentation rug. The Sportsmember All Ireland Qualifier is supported by Showjumping Ireland. Treo Eile have also kindly sponsored prizes for the highest placed TB in the Welcome Stakes.
Second class is a Power and Speed kindly sponsored by O’Brien Cement. O’Brien Cement is a family run cement manufacturer in Co. Kilkenny serving the Irish cement market. There will be 1-8 prizes for this class with a value of €450. Prizes will be vouchers for The Attymass Country Store who will also have their mobile shop on site at Duffys Equestrian on the day. In addition to the 1-8 prizes for the Power & Speed, there will also be some special prizes on the day valued over €150. There will be a presentation rug for the winner. This class is also a Farmers Journal A Qualifier.
Third class is a Grand Prix kindly sponsored by Jim Derwin Equestrian and Niall Earls EasyFix. Jim Derwin is an International Horse Dealer based in Athlone. EasyFix design, manufacture, & develop the most comfortable & innovative animal housing solutions available on the market worldwide. The Grand Prix will be an ideal warm up class for Amateurs preparing for the start of the Amateur Connaught League and RDS Amateur Qualifiers in the coming weeks. The value of prizes is approx. €1000. There will be 1-6 prizes worth almost €800 in vouchers for this class. There will be two presentation rugs, one for the winner of the Grand Prix and one for the highest place Amateur from the alternative category.
